Compliments have been flooding in after the 5th European Aniridia Conference. As chair of the event’s scientific committee and Patron of Aniridia Network which organised it all, Veronica van Heyningen gave heartfelt thanks everyone who made it such a triumph.

The feedback we’ve received from attendees is all along the lines of:
“It was outstanding in every way” and “Bravo! Great presentations by everyone.”

Many people have commented on the high quality and how we managed to have discussions with speakers among participants.

A team of outstanding people made the confernece happen, using up a lot of their spare time. We were so impressed by the responsiblity and dedication they displayed. As volunteers together we produced an amazing, innovative event that blew everyone away with how good it was.  They should all be very proud with what they achieved individually and as a fabulous team.
We thank them massively and are looking forward to collaborating with them again in the future!

I have admired and enjoyed your huge efforts to make this meeting the great success that I feel it has been. I know how hard several of you worked to make it happen in as brilliant a manner as it did.

We offer gratitude for the excellent contributions that made the conference such a delight and so insightful. This includes, speakers, panelists, session chairs and poster authors.

Your generous gift of time, knowledge and engagement is very greatly appreciated
We hope that some good ongoing links have been forged for research and for clinical engagements both for patients and clinicians. I assure you that we scientists find this type of mixed participant event most inspiring and informative.
Thank you again and hope to have continued contacts and interactions with many of you.

We are also thankful to the professional agency who managed all the recordings and live broadcast on the day. Everywhere+ took the pressure off us of managing the IT and made it all look so slick.

  1. It was a professional and inspiring conference throughout. Being a parents of an adult son with aniridia, we learnt more in one weekend than we have in 42 years! We know the hard work that the team, all volunteers, at Aniridia Network put in to achieve this very successful event. A big thank you and well done to everyone involved who made this possible.
