Call for Poster Presentations

The Scientific Committee of the 8th European Aniridia Conference (EAC 2026) invites young ophthalmologists, scientists, and patients with a scientific background to submit posters for the upcoming meeting in Sofia.

Posters may address any aspect of aniridia, including but not limited to:

  • Genetics and molecular biology
  • Eye development and aniridia
  • Clinical manifestations
  • Novel treatments and therapies
  • Psychosocial aspects and quality of life
  • Patient-reported outcomes

The poster exhibition provides an excellent opportunity to present recent work and engage with more than 100 expected attendees. All accepted posters will be displayed electronically in the main session hall throughout the three-day conference.

Submission Guidelines

Please send your scientific abstract up to 300 words, including title, names, affiliations and key words to arbilis@arbilis.com by 31 January 2026.

Participants under 35 are eligible for the poster contest. The eligibility rules apply only to original work of a single author. Collaborators should agree to be listed in the acknowledgements. Submissions must include:

  • A scientific abstract as above
  • An electronic poster version, consisting of 8 slides, which must be submitted with the abstract.

From all eligible submissions, eight posters will be selected for a 7-minute Rapid-Fire Presentation. The authors of the accepted RFP will be informed before 28 February 2026

In honour of Prof. Barbara Käsmann-Kellner, the Scientific Committee will, after voting, award a special, valuable prize to one of the eight selected young participants.

Poster Format Guidelines

  • Use a standard scientific poster format
  • Ensure clear, legible fonts and high-quality images
  • Posters should be self-explanatory
  • To ensure maximum convenience and align with our digitalisation and paperless policy, all posters (not only the selected 8) will be displayed electronically on a large screen at the designated time and location.
  • The final version of all accepted posters should be a maximum of 6 slides and must be submitted before 31 March 2026.
  • This is also valid for posters not approved for rapid fire.
